Cheap Flights to Orlando ?

If you are looking for cheap flights to Florida from the UK, it is advisable to shop around. If you leave the booking until a month before departure then the price will inevitably have increased. A few days before departure the price of seats sometimes drops dramtaically, depending on number of seats available, however this is a high risk strategy and generally it is better and cheaper to book flights about 3 months before departure.

Direct flights go from London, Manchester, Birmingham and some other regional airports. For regional airports served, ask when you make the enquiry. Flights are for Sanford (usually charter flights like Thomson) or Orlando International airport [MCO]  (Virgin, United, BA etc), if you are going to Disney World, Orlando, Florida. Travel from Sanford to a villa off Highway 27 or Route 192 will take 30 minutes from Sanford [SFB] vis Orlando International.

Another alternative is to fly to Tampa which will take approx 75 minutes to drive to most villas.

Other non-direct flights are available from regional airports like Bristol. One stop flights are available with various carriers; United, American Airlines, Delta, US Airways, KLM, Air France and Lufthansa.

Flights are often available to book 11 months in advance. Given the problems with airlines going bankrupt it is advisable to pay by credit card or book through a ABTA bonded travel agent.

Some cheap flight offers also throw in fly-drive.  You can get some good deals taking a package but beware that many packages do not include the CDW and SLI insurance, or extra drivers which can increase the cost of the car hire significantly on arrival at the rental desk.

We often fly to Washington DC and then onto Orlando, this provides a few hours break and all the international arrival details at immigration are done at this first stop in Washington DC. On arrival in Orlando you are effectively a regional traveler and go straight to collect bags, bypassing some often long tourist queues at immigration. The stop-off mid journey can add a few hours but we find this a relaxing alternative to direct flights. Depending on season it can also work out cheaper.

We’ve also done a stop at Detroit and JFK before flying down to Orlando.
